Deer Hide Drive

Attention All Deer Hunters!    WE WANT YOUR HIDES! 

Did you know that by donating your deer hides and tails to your local Elks Lodge you can help thousands of Disabled Veterans?

 The drive is part of a nationwide leather program that the Elks has been operating since 1948. The hides are transported to tanneries for processing. They are then distributed for recreational and occupational therapy throughout the Veterans-Administration healthcare system.  

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has donated and Distributed to Disable Veterans the following:

• Donated 3336 pairs of Wheel Chair Gloves.
• Distributed 4854 sq. ft. of Crafting Leather to Veterans Hospitals and Clinics.
• Donated 104,160 sq. ft. of Crafting Leather to help heal our Veterans.
• Manufactured and distributed 48038 crafting kits to our Veterans.

These therapeutic kits and gloves start with your donated deer hides. 

 If you or someone you know, have hides to donate there is a donation box on the South side of the Elks Lodge #528  during deer season.
